Scotland’s Ross Matheson (coach: Dave Campbell), recorded a satisfying Aviva GB&NI team debut when finishing second Brit in 53rd (25:03) after picking off athletes from back in 68th position after lap one. "My main aim coming into this was really just to continue my run of form from Birmingham (Trials)," he said. "I was actually less nervous about this than the Trials because I think I put more pressure on myself then; here it was just nerves of the unknown.
"It was fast from the start and I’d been a bit wary about that, not so much about the pace, but the feeling of being packed in and the claustrophobia, but it was ok.
"I just kept setting myself targets at each lap, and when I saw Rich (Richard Goodman), that was my biggest target."
The club AGM took place on Tuesday 15/03 and it was great to see a number of coaches, athletes and parents present on the night.

It was a successful end to the Indoor track and field season for the club at Sunday’s (13/03/11) Scottish Indoor League Finals. Three teams had qualified for the finals, U17 Girls, U20 Men and U15 Boys. A young U17 Girls’ team came fourth, the U20 men finished third, and the U15 Boys’ team (Gareth Fleming, Jamie Cousins, Iain Lawson and William Hutchison)were crowned champions.
In the 4 x 200m Relay Championships on the same day, the U20 men collected silver medals, the U17 Girls were 5th in their final, the U13 Girls second in their heat, narrowly missing out on a final place, and the U15 Boys DNF.
It has been a good indoor season for the club, both as a team with the league successes, and the individual achievements of the club’s top performers who have an impressive haul of national medals as reward for their continued improvement at the highest level.
A quick reminder that our AGM is on Tuesday Night. The AGM also incorporates the Club Cross Country Championships Awards and also the Coaches, Sprints and Throws Trophies. Could last years winners please return the annual trophies on the night or at training tomorrow. Thank you
