Volunteers are the cornerstone of club sport. Without those who freely give up their time there simply would be no club sport. Lasswade AC are no different, we are so thankful for those who volunteer to support and develop our athletes.
We are keen to recruit and develop more volunteers from either our athletes, their parents or families and indeed the wider community. Lasswade AC have a wide range of exciting opportunities available many with no athletics experience needed. Such as, admin, IT support, business planning, publicity…… Please see below for specific help required just now.
Volunteering at Lasswade AC is fun and rewarding. It can be useful for those looking for Duke of Edinburgh hours. Adding to your personal statement for further education. Gaining qualifications to your C.V. Or simply if you want to give something back to the club for helping you or your kids develop. All Lasswade AC volunteers will.
- Supported by a named person.
- Placed in a role suitable to their skills.
- Be put on a rota for their role to ensure other commitments are considered.
- Allowed to do the role on a trail basis to see if they enjoy it before fully committing.
- Any training courses needed will be funded by the club.

Further to the above we are looking for help just now in the following key areas.
Shadow Treasurer. With our current Treasurer, Barbara Howie, in her final year in the post, we would like to recruit a suitable person to shadow and learn the role from Barbara. Membership Secretary Assistants. Admin help is needed to create a team to work alongside our current membership secretary. The team would help keep the members details upto date, deal with new enquiries….. A full role descriptor is available here which has links to express your interest..
Web & Social Media Team (four volunteers needed) This team would help update, develop and maintain the clubs website and social media platforms. These are essential tools to keep existing and potential members informed. A full role descriptor is available here which has links to express your interest.
Competition Team (eight volunteers needed) this team would be responsible for gathering athletes availability for the leagues and other competitions we enter. dealing with league admins etc Many of this team are already in place but we need to provide even more support to them.
