Having finished se<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-lht6-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/v\/t1.0-9\/20663751_1514695865241015_5708556564627919429_n.jpg?oh=ea1cba68be0c1396d4f82e0ae05844d1&amp;oe=5A28FAD8\" alt=\"Image may contain: 1 person, outdoor\" width=\"185\" height=\"241\" \/>cond in the 800m, at\u00a0the British Championships earlier in the year, Guy secured his place on the team by running a new PB\u00a0at the Anniversary Games at Olympic Park last month.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In Saturdays round of heats Guy ran brilliantly to finish in third and make his way\u00a0through\u00a0to the\u00a0semi- finals. His time of 1.45.90 just a fraction off his current PB. Another good run in Sundays\u00a0semi- final\u00a0was not quite\u00a0enough\u00a0to make it through to the final, finishing in 5<span data-fontsize=\"11\">th<\/span>. It was\u00a0another\u00a0fine\u00a0performance\u00a0from\u00a0one of\u00a0Scotlands\u00a0top runners\u00a0though, and continues\u00a0this years fine run of form.<\/p>\n<p>Representing their Country in another International tournament were four of\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0AC&#8217;s rising stars.\u00a0<strong>Lauren Dickson, Sarah Tait, Magnus Tait and Bryony<\/strong> <strong>Patterson<\/strong> were in\u00a0Dublin\u00a0last\u00a0weekend, having been selected to represent Scotland in the Celtic Games.\u00a0Morton\u00a0Stadium was the venue for the teams from Scotland, Ireland and Wales.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5624 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lasswade-ac.org.uk\/club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/celtic-games-l-r-Magnus-Tait-Lauren-Dickson-Bryonny-Patterson-Sarah-Tait-300x265.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"278\" height=\"245\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.lasswade-ac.org.uk\/club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/celtic-games-l-r-Magnus-Tait-Lauren-Dickson-Bryonny-Patterson-Sarah-Tait-300x265.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.lasswade-ac.org.uk\/club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/celtic-games-l-r-Magnus-Tait-Lauren-Dickson-Bryonny-Patterson-Sarah-Tait.jpg 562w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 278px) 100vw, 278px\" \/>All four athletes contributed to a fine performance by the Scottish Team. Lauren Dickson brought home a Silver medal finishing second in the U18 Girls 1500m.\u00a0Bryony\u00a0Patterson added another\u00a0Silver\u00a0in\u00a0the triple jump. Her final jump of 10.86m enough to move her\u00a0into\u00a0second\u00a0spot. Sarah Tait added another medal and more points to the Scottish Teams total, finishing 3<span data-fontsize=\"11\">rd<\/span>\u00a0in the U18\u00a0girls\u00a01500m Steeplechase, to take Bronze. A new personal best of 6.23.18s in the U18 boys 200m Steeplechase left Magnus Tait just outside the medals, but added valuable points to the\u00a0teams\u00a0total.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On the day Scotland finished in overall second place on 159 points, ahead of Wales on 146 and behind winners Ireland who finished on 188pts.\u00a0<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A large group of\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0ACs younger athletes were in action closer to home, having\u00a0been\u00a0selected to compete in the Forth Valley League Select match. The Select match represents\u00a0athletes who have\u00a0put in the best performances, across all the divisions, giving them the chance to compete against each other for medals. It was a golden day for Shane, firstly winning the boys 100m in a time of 14.7s. Shane followed this up with another gold in the 200m, finishing in a new PB time of 30.00s. A third Gold was on its way at the end of the day as Shane helped his relay team to top spot. Among the other U11s selected <strong>Eloise Scott<\/strong> ran well in the 100m, and helped her relay team to second spot. <strong>Harry Miller<\/strong> also\u00a0equalled\u00a0his PB in the\u00a0HIgh\u00a0Jump, finishing in 5<span data-fontsize=\"11\">th<\/span>\u00a0place on the day. Competing in the U11s 600m <strong>Aiden Haggerty<\/strong> was running well, but unfortunately pulled up injured.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There were no medals for the U13 athletes, however there were some strong performances. <strong>Alec Miller<\/strong> was just short of his PB in the High Jump with a clearance of 1.30. This left him in 4<span data-fontsize=\"11\">th<\/span>\u00a0place overall, just missing out on a medal through countback. <strong>Alastair Scott<\/strong> threw a new PB of 6.10m to finish in 6<span data-fontsize=\"11\">th<\/span>\u00a0place in the Shot Putt. <strong>Amy McLaughlin<\/strong>&#8216;s throw of 12.73m in the discus, a new PB, left her in 4<span data-fontsize=\"11\">th<\/span>\u00a0place and just 10cm off the medals.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Adam Leighton<\/strong> continued his fantastic season in the jumps, dominating both his events to come home with two Gold medals and a new PB in\u00a0the High Jump. In tricky conditions Adams Jump of 5.33m in the Long Jump was enough to get him his first Gold of the day. First up for Mia was the U15 Girls 100m. Mia finished in a time of 13.3s to take\u00a0second spot and the Silver Medal. Later in the day Mia ran another strong race in the 200m, taking the Bronze medal with a time of 28.1s. His throw of 13.25m in the\u00a0Discus\u00a0 left\u00a0him in 6<span data-fontsize=\"11\">th<\/span>\u00a0place in that event. <strong>Heather\u00a0Kinghorns<\/strong>\u00a0throw of 8.17m in the Shot Putt left her just outside the medals in 4<span data-fontsize=\"11\">th<\/span>\u00a0place, but was a new Personal Best.
