Taking in one lap of the course, and covering\u00a0one mile\u00a0it proved to be the closest race of the day. Over 50 girls lined up\u00a0on the start line, but the course soon had them well spread. As the finish line came up 4\u00a0girls\u00a0were left fighting it out for the top spot. Chloe Hill of\u00a0Larkhill\u00a0Harriers had just enough to take first in a time of 6m 25s. Just a second behind the winner, and\u00a0seperated\u00a0by less than a second was the trio of\u00a0Carys\u00a0Gibb, Adele Street and\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0AC runner Abbie Foster. Not far behind Abbie was fellow\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0runner Hannah Harley, finishing in a time of 6m 32s. A good turnout by\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0runners also included fine performances from Eloise\u00a0Scott, Sophie\u00a0Birse, Sophie Winters, Amy Rutherford and Matilde Buxton.\u00a0In\u00a0the team race, based on the top 3 performances of each team,\u00a0Pitreavie\u00a0came out just ahead of\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0AC, with\u00a0Moorfoot\u00a0in 3<span data-fontsize=\"11\">rd<\/span>.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The boys Under 11\u00a0race\u00a0was next up, and had another strong field. First home was\u00a0Giffnock\u00a0North runner Craig\u00a0Shennan, in a time of 6m 00s. Following\u00a0him\u00a0home\u00a0was\u00a0 Haddington\u00a0East runner\u00a0Innes Wright, with Thomas Hilton, of\u00a0Moorfoot, coming home third. After recent wins in the Midlothian Schools and East District Cross Country\u00a0events ,\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0runner, Andrew McWilliam put in another strong performance coming home in 8<span data-fontsize=\"11\">th<\/span>\u00a0spot. Next up for\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0was Shane\u00a0Majekodunmi, with strong runs from Ewan Meldrum, Ben Harley, Rory\u00a0Stobbie, Jude Anderson and Cian\u00a0murray\u00a0in their first outings for the club. The Team prize was taken by\u00a0Moorfoot\u00a0runners, followed by\u00a0Giffnock\u00a0North and\u00a0Airdrie\u00a0Harriers, with\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0in 5<span data-fontsize=\"11\">th<\/span>.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Under 13 girls were next up, with their race covering 2 laps of the track. Katie Johnson, of Edinburgh AC, was\u00a0givien\u00a0a stern test by\u00a0Pitreavie\u00a0runner Anya Morrison, before finally prevailing to\u00a0take\u00a0 a\u00a01 second victory. Third spot went to East Lothian runner Bridget Harley. First home for\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0was Olivia Meikle, with Amy Mclaughlin, Skye Foster and Sophie Edwards all coming home in good times behind. Team prize went to\u00a0Pitreavie\u00a0again, with\u00a0Moorfoot\u00a0and\u00a0Lawfield\u00a0and District behind. First\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0runner home was Ross Wolfenden in 5<span data-fontsize=\"11\">th<\/span>. Abby McGlone was the lone\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0runner in the field, finishing strongly in 12<span data-fontsize=\"11\">th<\/span>. Team prize went to\u00a0Corstorphioine, followed by\u00a0Airdrie\u00a0and\u00a0Moorfoot. In the boys Under 15\u00a0race,\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0runner,\u00a0Harry Henriksen once again proved far\u00a0too\u00a0strong for the rest of the field, romping home almost a minute ahead of the\u00a0rest\u00a0in\u00a0a time of 17m26s. In the same combined race Lauren\u00a0Dickson,\u00a0of\u00a0Lasswade, took top spot in the Under 20s..\u00a0The senior\u00a0womens\u00a0race was won by Carnethy athlete Charlotte Morgan, with\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0runner Keira Murray running well to come home in second. First veteran runner home was Lisa McDonald, with Sue Ridley winner of the over 45s group. Gillon proved to be too\u00a0strong\u00a0in the final lap though, taking the top spot for Law &amp; District.\u00a0 Another\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0athlete, Euan Hood ran well in third, with team mate Daniel Kelly a few places further back in 6<span data-fontsize=\"11\">th<\/span>. First\u00a0Veteren\u00a0was\u00a0HBT runner Dave Wright, with Portobello&#8217;s Jake Harper first in the over 50s. Senior team prize went to HBT, with the\u00a0Lasswade\u00a0team of Jamie Darling, Martin Gore and Andrew McGlone coming second.
