Our annual Club Competition will be held on Monday 31st August at the track in Dalkeith Campus from 6.00pm until 9.00pm.
Further information will be coming out soon but the night is for athletes up to and including U18s and we hope that they will all compete, especially those who have never competed before as they should feel comfortable on their home track. We also recommend that everyone enters more than one event with a maximum of three events plus the relay.
In order to run such an event we need a large team of adult helpers so if you are keen and available please contact Susan Outerson on welfare@lasswade-ac.org.uk.
This has always been a fun and friendly competition and gives our young athletes the opportunity to compete in familiar surroundings along side their friends.

The team sheet for the final match of the CSSAL League at Grangemouth on Sunday has now been sent out via email. If you are expecting to compete but have not received the email please let me know. There are a lot of spaces available in most age groups so if you are available and do want to compete, please email chair@lasswade-ac.org.uk

We are pleased to confirm that the travelling community have left the campus so training resumes back at the campus for all groups at their normal times
Please note the area is being tidied up by the council and we’ve not to use the long jump pits until a thorough clean up of them have been completed.
Unfortunately, there are still an exceptionally large numbers of the travelling community at Dalkeith Campus.
The following groups will endeavour to train at Ironmills Park, Dalkeith at the usual times –
Senior Sprints (Andy Cullen’s group)
Junior Sprints (Susan’s group)
Endurance (Kirk & Linda’s group)
Please note that the park may be busy with regard to parking as dance classes are held at the pavilion there.
The following groups will NOT train –
Multi-events, Throws and Jumps
Training for next week may also be affected so please check back for further updates.

The club received an email from Islay Running club regarding a marathon that they are holding, Content of email is below –
I’m the treasurer of the Islay Running Club & we help a local family organise the Islay Marathon, which is run in memory of their late son.
This year’s marathon is on Saturday 12th September at 10.30 am. The entry fee is reduced to £30 if you sign up before the 1st of July, it then increases to £40 – closing date is the 28th of August.
We would love to welcome more runners from across Scotland this year & wondered if you could spread the word with your members?

Senior Sprints and Kirk & Linda’s endurance groups will endeavour to train at Ironmills Park tonight at the usual times. All other groups – Multi-events, Junior Sprints and Jumps are cancelled.

Lasswade AC is proud to celebrate the outstanding career of Guy Learmonth, who has announced he will retire at the end of this track season. From his early days as a talented club junior athlete to becoming one of Scotland’s fastest ever 800m runners, Guy’s journey has been remarkable.
He broke the Scottish U20 800m record multiple times, set national age?group championship records, and quickly rose to become one of Britain’s brightest young athletes.
Guy went on to represent Scotland and Great Britain at the Commonwealth Games, European Championships, and World Indoor and Outdoor Championships, achieving a superb personal best of 1:44.73 – ranking him fourth all?time in Scotland.
A four?time British Indoor Champion and a consistent international performer, Guy has been an inspiration to athletes across the club and beyond.
Lasswade AC extends its warmest congratulations to Guy on an exceptional career and wishes him every success in the future. His achievements will remain a proud part of our club’s history.
