With League competition fast approaching I have sent each member a form to complete.  (as above link)

 

It requests availability to be considered for selection for events. Whilst there will no doubt be changes over the summer it gives team managers a good starting point for team selection.

Last year we frankly struggled in the opening matches , primarily due to holiday commitments and I am keen to ensure Managers have the largest pool of available athletes to choose from.

Returns as quickly as possible please. Those who do not yet have Scottish Athletic Membership are requested to arrange as soon as possible in order that they can be considered eligible to compete.

Some time ago I circulated a fixtures list so that you could get them in the diary. Well the first league dates are fast approaching. Here is a breakdown until end May.
We were a bit slow out the blocks last year but finished strongly,let’s see if we can get full squads out from the beginning this year.
You could start letting your coaches know you are available for selection now.
(Venues may change from that specified below)

Lasswade Cross Country Club Champs

The results are now available for the Annual Cross Country Championship competition. The results are based on the volume of identified races competed over the season and finishing position. For U11 it is based on the best 3 out of four possible races completed for the rest best 5 results out of 6 races.  ( needing to have completed 3 to be considered)  Those that have only run one or two races are not placed but can see their points tally.

Prizes will be presented at the AGM on Wednesday 16th at Newbattle Golf Club 7pm

Lasswade Road Race .Sunday 6 March 2016

A huge well done and thanks to all involved in making today’s road race such a success. At the risk of leaving some out thanks to our external partners who issued
Permissions to host the event, to organisers, our fab catering team who did us proud once again, our Marshals for their direction, support and encouragement. A thanks also to our finishing team who often get forgotten. It was great to see some good crowds on the route , it makes all the difference when you are flagging. Finally and big thanks to all the athletes who have travelled the length and breadth of the country to take part. Congratulations to you all and thanks from and all at Lasswade AC. See you all next year !!!

National Cross Country Championships – Falkirk – 27/02/2016

The National Cross Country Championships took place on Saturday 27 February 2016 at Callendar Park in Falkirk. It was a beautiful sunny day, the temperature mild and the course, with a few changes from last year, looked fantastic!

This is the highlight of the cross country season in Scotland with clubs and individuals from all over the country competing.

This was one of the events being used for selection for the London Mini Marathon and also the inter counties cross country championships. Anyone in the under 15 and 17 age groups with aspirations of either event would have to perform well today.
