Scottish Schools’ Championships

Several of the club’s athletes were representing their schools at the Scottish Schools’ Championships at Grangemouth on Friday and Saturday (10 – 11 June).  The top performers were Ellen Kristoffersen who took gold in the long jump, and silver in the High Jump and Pole Vault, Gareth Fleming who collected two golds in the Javelin and Pole Vault, and bronze in the 80m Hurdles, and Robert Ferguson – gold in the High Jump.

Athletes’ results are listed below.

Age Group A

Ashley Boak ­– Javelin – 27.26m – 3rd, Discus – 19.27m – 6th

Sophie Elder – 400m – 60.73s – 3rd in heat, 61.74s – 5th in final

Age Group B

Robert Ferguson – High Jump – 1.90m – 1st, Javelin – 32.89m – 8th

Ross Henderson – 800m – 2:11.67 – 4th in heat

Iain Lawson – 1500m – 4:54.57 – 7th in heat

Ellen Kristoffersen – Long Jump – 5.22m – 1st, High Jump – 1.60m – 2nd, Pole Vault – 2.80m – 2nd

Erin Feeley – Discus – 27.13m – 3rd, Shot Put – 7.90m – 8th

Francesca Benham – Shot Put – 7.61m – 10th, Javelin – 21.86m – 8th, Discus – 17.55m – 10th

Amy Smith – 800m – 2:28.81 – 6th in final

Fiona Matheson – 800m – 2:31.37 – 6th in heat

Amy Frankland – 1500m – 5:19.72 – 7th in heat

Katherine Szymanski – Triple Jump – 9.90m – 4th

Sophie Collins – 3000m – 11:42.97 – 5th in final

Age Group C

Gareth Fleming – Pole Vault – 2.70m – 1st, Javelin – 43.71m – 1st, 80m Hurdles – 14.06s – 3rd

Fraser Amos – 100m – 13.54s – 5th in heat, 200m – 28.15s – 7th in heat

Age Group D

Fraser Cousin – 80m Hurdles – 14.67s – 5th in final
