The National Cross Country Relay Championships took place last weekend at Cumbernauld. Lasswade AC had three young female teams and four young male teams taking part. They all did extremely well.

The East District Cross Country Relay Championships took place at Peebles on Sunday 11/10/2015.
There were seven teams from Lasswade AC taking part, two young female teams, two young male teams, one ladies team and two men’s teams.
There were some great performances with two teams picking up silver medals and some very exciting races.

The purpose of this is a trial to see if we can improve communication links with Team Managers making their life that bit easier.
It will be evaluated and if successful could be utilised across the track and field season.

Cross Country Races Sunday 1st November 2015
Dear Athlete
Sunday, 1st November sees the Annual running of the Lasswade AC Cross Country Races at Gore Glen Playing Fields, Gorebridge. This race is a major fund raising event for LAC and we are asking your help to make it a success.
Your club is looking for a number of young athletes to help out in a number of areas at the race Start and Finish areas at the Playing Fields.
Your help would be needed from 11:00am until around 3:30pm, reporting to Gore Glen Playing Fields Pavilion.

A few enquiries coming in about timings for this weekend so here it is again
Cameron Steven and Lauren Dickson made the journey south this weekend to Bedford to compete in the England Age Group Championships.
Cameron was competing in the under 17 men’s 800m and Lauren in the under 17 girl’s 1500m. Cameron was first to compete on Saturday morning and safely qualified for the final on Sunday by winning his heat in 1.55.87.
Next it was Lauren in the 1500m which was now being run as a straight final. Lauren ran a fine race to finish a very impressive 5th narrowly missing a personal best with a time of 4.38.40.
In the under 17 men’s 800m final Cameron ran a fantastic race to win, coming close to his personal best with a time of 1.52.93.
Congratulations to you both from everyone at Lasswade AC.
